Clareburt wins medal at World Swimming Championships

Kiwi swimmer Lewis Clareburt has won a bronze medal in the Men’s 400m Medley at the World Championships.

Clareburt qualified fifth fastest for the final which is being held in South Korea.

In the final he stood up and smashed the New Zealand record with a time of 4 minutes 12.07 seconds.

Clareburt finished behind Daiya Seto of Japan and American Jay Litherland.

He is the first New Zealander to win a medal at the World Championships since Lauren Boyle claimed two silver medals in 2015.
