Chelsea have been crownd the Kings of Europe after beating Manchester City 1-0 in Portugal.

The victory was Chelsea second Champions League title. The game was decided by a first half goal from Kai Havertz.

Havertz, from Germany, latched onto Mason Mount’s through pass and evaded goalkeeper Ederson before rolling the ball into an empty net in the 42nd minute to decide a tight encounter.

Despite winning three of the last four Premier League titles City were unable to get a goal.

For Chelsea’s German manager, Thomas Tuchel, the triumph comes after his Paris St Germain side suffered defeat in last season’s final against Bayern Munich.
