The details surrounding the upcoming tour of Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall have been released. It is reported that the royal duo will visit Wellington, Auckland, Waikato, Dunedin, Nelson, Westport and New Plymouth during their stay in New Zealand.
The Royal couple will arrive in Wellington on the 4th of November, where they will lay a wreath at the new Pukeahu National War memorial to commemorate 100 years since Gallipoli. Whilst in Dunedin Camilla will attend a literary reception at Otago University, and they will both visit the Orokonui Eco-Sancurary. Whilst still in the south island the couple will head north to Nelson to see the Cawthron Institute, attend the Nelson weekend market and to go on a wine tour.
When they travel back to the North Island, Prince Charles will visit Nga Rangatahi To in Auckland. This is an organisation which works to get young people into jobs. Furthermore in Waikato the duo will be welcomed at Turangawaewae Marae, the home of Maori King – with a waka armada on the Waikato River. The Maori King’s office is excited for their visit having said that this welcoming is a significant milestone in the relationship between Maori and the royal family.
