The New Zealand Breakers’ have won their last game of the season but their season is over.

Needing to win their last game, and hope other teams lost, the Breakers beat South Melbourne 92-83.

However, the next day the Brisbane Bullets beat the Taipans by a staggering 36 points – the largest margin this season – to put an end to the Breakers’ playoff hopes.

The result means that the Breakers finished in 6th position.

Three teams all attempting to get to the final 4th position all had the same win-loss ratio so the position was decided by points per game.

In the final Melbourne will take on Sydney, while Perth will face Cairns.
