The Blues are the 2021 Trans-Tasman Super Rugby champions.
Their fourth Super Rugby title came when they beat the Highlanders 23-15 in the Trans-Tasman final at Eden Park. The last time they won the title was in 2003.
In a tight, brusing final, it was Blake Gibson’s try in the 77th minute which sealed the victory.
The Blues had led 13-6 at halftime but the Highlanders came into the match in the second half. They had the momentum for most of the second half until Gibson’s try.
