The Black Ferns scored two quick tries before the break to cut the lead to 5 meaning the score was 17-15 at the break.

After the break the Black Ferns continued their momentum coming up against a 13 women side after two Australian players were sent to the bin.

England also opened their women’s Rugby World Cup campaign with a 84-19 rout of Fiji at Eden Park.
