Black Caps through to T20 World Cup semi finals

The Black Caps have beaten Afghanistan by eight wickets to secure a place in the 2021 T20 World Cup.

The results means that the Black Caps will play England in the last four on Wednesday. Australia and Pakistan will play in the other semi final.

The Blacks Caps booked their place in the final with a clinical win.

Superb fielding and accurate bowling ensured that they kept Afghanistan to just 124-8. Najibullah Zadran was the best batter as he hit 73 from 48 balls and Trent Boult was the best of the bowler with his 3-17.

New Zealand were not troubled in the run chase.

Daryl Mitchell fell for 17 and Martin Guptill 28, before captain Kane Williamson hit a calm 40 not out as his side eased to victory with 11 balls to spare.
