The Black caps have drawn the first cricket test with England.

Chasing 273 for a 1-0 lead in the two-match series, England finished their second innings with 170-3 in 70 overs.

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson declared their second innings at 169-6 at lunch.

New Zealand may have missed an opportunity win a test in England. However, the loss of a days play to rain made things difficult.

New Zealand will be pleased with many players getting into form. Devon Conway produced a masterful double hundred on debut, while Tim Southee and Kyle Jamieson proved difficult to contain with the new ball.

The next test is in Birmingham, starting on Thursday.
