The Black Caps have clinched their T20 series against Sri Lanka in dramatic style.

Set 162 for victory the Black Caps won with 2 balls remaining thanks to some final over heroics from Mitchel Santner.

Santner came to the crease needing 7 runs off 4 delivers.
His first ball appeared to be caught on the boundary, only for Kusal Mendis and Shehan Jayasuriya to collide and Jayasuriya to tumble over the rope to give Santner six and tie the scores. He then hit the next ball for a boundary to complete the victory.

Colin de Grandhomme spearheaded New Zealand’s run chase with 59 from 46 balls.

Despite New Zealand’s good batting, Black Caps captain Tim Southee was named man of the match, after returning figures of 2/18 from his four overs. His bowling helped restrict Sri Lanka to 161/9 after they won the toss and decided to bat first.
