The Black Caps have beaten Australia by 89 runs in their first game of the T20 World Cup at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

This was the Black Caps first win against Australia in Australia for 11 years.

After losing the toss Finn Allen and Devon Conway got the Blackcaps off to a flyer.

With Allen scoring 46 of 16 and Conway batting the innings and scoring 92 of 58.

Jimmy Neesham hit 26 off 13 including a six from the final ball to take New Zealand through to 200/3 of 20 overs

Australia never really looked like reaching the target as the Black Caps had the home side all out for just 111 in the 18th over.

Tim Southee and Mitchell Santner led the way with three wickets each.

In the other game England scored a five-wicket win over Afghanistan in Perth.
