Over the past 80 years, the number of bumblebees in the UK has decreased dramatically, driving over 2000 schools to take action.

Bumblebees are vital for human life to continue on earth but already 2 species of bees have become extinct.

Changes to the environment are causing concern about the numbers dropping further so scientist have set the challenge for people to start noting down every time they see a bumblebee in order to learn more about them.

So far more than 2000 schools across the UK have signed up for the Big Bumblebee Discovery to help keep the number of bees from dropping further.
