Bernal wins 2019 Tour de France

Egan Bernal has won the 2019 Tour de France.

He becomes the first Colombian and youngest ever winner of the famous bike race.

In second place is was Bernal’s team-mate Geraint Thomas, while Dutchman Steven Kruijswijk finished third.

The 3-week long race started on the first weekend of the school holidays. This year there were 21 stages and 3400km of cycling race that took riders all over France.

The best place Kiwi was George Bennet who finished 23rd. However, he was in the race to support his teammate, Steven Kruijswijk, who finished 3rd.
