Australia has won the Chappel-Hadlee cricket series 3-0 after beating the Blackcaps by 25 runs in the 3rd and final ODI in Cairns.

Australian captain Aaron Finch was given a guard of honour by the New Zealand players because it was his last ODI game.

Australia was put in to bat and scored 267-5, Steve Smith top-scoring with 105 from 131 balls.

New Zealand started with a good opening stand of 49 between Devon Conway and Finn Allen but crumbled to 112-5.

Glenn Phillips and Jimmy Neesham fought back scoring 47 and 36 respectively to bring the equation to 46 runs needed from 30 balls.

When Phillips was dismissed the remaining wickets fell quickly as New Zealand slumped from 224-7 to 242 all out.
