The much loved Auckland Santa has been saved due to the generosity of local businesses.
Early last week it was announced that the Hearty of the City was unable to fund the $180,000 a year project.
However, property development firm Mansons TCLM have pledged to help out and with Skycity also pledging $50,000 it means that Santa will be back on Auckland’s streets.
The Santa is a gigantic  18m high and weighs five-tonnnes.
The Santa statue has been a popular figure as his iconic facial expressions have always generated great conversation and excitement each Christmas.
