Computer company Apple has became the first US $2 trillion.

The technology powerhouse behind the iPhone hit the record on Wednesday of last week.

The new value comes only two years after becoming the first company to be valued at $1 trillion by Wall Street.

Apple is now 44 years old and was started by Steve Jobs.

Jobs passed away in 2011 and his successor, Tim Cook, has ensured the company has grown.

Cook has presided over an almost nine-fold increase in Apple’s share price since taking over.
