A mummy has been found in Egypt, near the Valley of the Kings.

Experts think might be as many as 2,500 years old! They think it is from somewhere between 1075-664 BC.

It was found on the west side of the Nile river within a tomb.

The mummy is in extremely good condition

The mummy is encased in a special kind of brightly-coloured wooden coffin called a sarcophagus.
It is decorated with religious symbols from Ancient Egypt, which is what people used to do to mummies at the time. The ancient Egyptians mummified their dead because they believed that the physical body would be important in the next life.
