The All Whites took the lead on the stroke of halftime and took a 1-0 lead into the break. Clayton Lewis completed the scoring with a penalty in the final minute.

The winner of the Oceania tournament will meet the fourth-placed team from CONCACAF in the inter-continental play-off in June.
CONCACAF is the confederation of North and Central America and Caribbean Associations.
The winner of that one-off game qualifies for the FIFA World Cup finals in Qatar in November and December.
