The All Blacks have beaten Ireland 42-19 in the first test match at Eden Park.

Ireland scored the first try securing an early 5-0 lead in the first half but the All Blacks then scored 4 tries to go into the halftime break up 28-5.

Ireland then upended the scoring again in the second half but the All Blacks sealed the game off with 2 second-half tries making the full-time score 42-19.

New Zealand is now 1-0 in the three-match series, with the next game in Dunedin.

The All Blacks have not lost a rugby Test at Eden Park in 47 matches since 1994. It also means Ireland – who had won three of the previous five Tests between the two teams – remain winless from their 13 tests against the All Blacks in New Zealand.
