The All Blacks have beaten Japan 38-31 to start New Zealand’s end-of-year tour in the Tokyo National Stadium.

New Zealand went into the break up 21-17 due to 3 early tries.

However, the All Blacks were down to 14 men for the rest of the game after Brodie Retallick got shown a red card in the 65th minute.

A try for Japan in the 77th minute brought the score back to four points in the dying moments, but the All Blacks held on for the win with a penalty in the last minute.

The All Blacks conclude their tour in Britain with matches against Wales, Scotland and England over the next three weeks
