A cleaner at South Korea’s Incheon International Airport made a discovery that could change his life.

The man, whose full name was not revealed, found seven gold bars worth 350 million won (approximately $500,000) in a trash can last week.

After finding the bars the cleaner immediately alerted the airport’s customs authorities. Each bar weighed 1 kilogram and was wrapped in newspaper. He found them near a tax-free area of the departure terminal.

The investigation will now see that the gold isn’t connected to criminal activity.

If that’s the case and if the owner of the gold bars does not come forward to claim them, the cleaner will be able to claim the discovery as his property thanks to the country’s “finders keepers” law.

  2. I am both with and against this, ‘Finders Keepers Law’!?!?!?!? I mean thats good and all but 3.5 million dollars is too much to be finders keepers

  3. Oh. My. Gosh. He should buy a mansion. Like, seriously. Why doesn’t he turn it in to the reception??? It would be the right thing to do.
