Hong Kong-based airline Cathay Pacific has misspelt its own name on one of its Boeing 777-367.

The typo was reportedly discovered by observers on the Hong Kong Aviation Discussion Board.

The plane emblazoned with the name ‘CATHAY PACIIC’ instead of ‘CATHAY PACIFIC’

A Cathay Pacific spokesperson said that the company did not intend to make a fuss over the mistake until photos emerged. The photos went viral on social media.

In good humour, the airline joined in on the fun via Twitter.

@cathaypacific said “Oops this special livery won’t last long! She’s going back to the shop!”
