Today marks the start of the 2021/22 NBA season.
This season 109 international players from 39 countries will play in the worlds best basketball competition.
This year New Zealander Steven Adams will play for the Memphis Grizzlies.
Canada remains the most represented country outside of the United States for an eighth consecutive year with 18 players, followed by Australia, France and Germany who each have seven players each on opening-night rosters.
Nigeria, Serbia, Spain and Turkey each have five players featured across the NBA’s 30 teams.
In the first game of the season the reigning champion Milwaukee Bucks beat the Brooklyn Nets 127-104
Experts have the Brooklyn Nets as favourites just ahead of the Lakers, while Dallas Mavericks forward Luka Doncic is favourite to claim the MVP award.
