2013 – One of New Zealand's hottest years

Scientists have announced that 2013 will be one of the three hottest years on record.
Principal scientist at NIWA, Brett Mullan,  said if December is 1.4 degrees above average, 2013 will be the second hottest year on record.If it is two degrees or more above average, it will be the hottest year since records began.
Dr Mullan said 1998 is currently the New Zealand’s hottest year on record, with 1999 the second hottest.
