Mexican woman, Leandra Becerra Lumbreras, has become the oldest person to ever live. On Sunday Leandra celebrated her 127th birthday! However, her title is still unofficial.

Leandra is 11 years older than the oldest recognised person to ever live, however she cannot prove her age to the Guinness World Records as she lost her birth certificate 40 years ago.

She is believed to have been born in 1887 in Mexico, and if this is in fact true, she is indeed the oldest person to ever live!

Leandra believes that her love of chocolate, sleeping for sometimes days on end and never getting married are all factors of her long life.

She has now outlived her five children along with several of her grandchildren. She is described as a ‘fighter’ who refuses to be inactive and still enjoys entertaining her 73 great-grandchildren and 55 great-great grandchildren with old songs.
