After years of incredible acting, Leonardo DiCaprio has finally won an Oscar!
Leo has previously been nominated for his part in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape in 1993, The Aviator in 2004, Blood Diamond in 2006, The Wolf of Wall Street in 2013 and also for best picture as a producer of Wolf.
After years of nominations and just missing out, Leo took home an Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in The Revenant.
The actor certainly earned the award after eating a raw bison liver, learning how to shoot a musket, learning to speak 2 Native American languages, studying with a doctor to learn about ancient healing techniques and being tossed around the set for a bear attack scene for the movie.
Leo says his experience filming The Revenant fuelled his passion about fighting climate change. During his acceptance speech he said, “Let us not take this planet for granted. I do not take this night for granted.”
