Underwater Restaurant Leaving NZ

With the help of some Kiwi creativity, Fitzroy Engineering in New Plymouth has spent the past 10 months building the world’s second underwater restaurant.
Now the underwater restaurant is on it’s way to the Maldives in the Indian Ocean where it will be a part of a resort on a coral reef. The roof, sides and end wall of the dining area are clear, giving diners panoramic views of the reef while they enjoy their meal.
A specialist ship is waiting off shore of Port Taranaki to take the restaurant to the Maldives. Once installed the restaurant will look similar to the photo below.
