Completing a marathon is an amazing achievement – even with two legs.
Well, a one-legged woman has just completed her 104th Marathon.
To make the feat more impressive Jacky Hunt-Broersma has completed the marathons consecutively.
Hunt-Broersma has run 42.1 kilometres every single day since January!
Hunt-Broersma lost her leg because of cancer and hopes her achievements can inspire more people to get out running.
In 2002, at 26 years-old, Jackie was told she had a rare cancer called Ewing’s sarcoma. Her left leg was removed to save her life but Jacky struggled with the change.
At first she felt different and wore trousers so people wouldn’t notice her prosthetic limb.
Her husband was into running and out of curiosity she gave it a go.
Then at the beginning of 2022, Jacky set a goal to break the record for most marathons in a row – since then she has run a whopping 4,399 kilometres and raised more than $100,000 for charity. What an amazing woman!
